Romina Abal

Romina Abal is a Manager in EDC’s San Francisco office. Prior to joining EDC in 2004, Romina worked in Bank of America in the Payments and Strategy area and in Accenture Argentina for the Financial Services vertical. Romina has primarily been focused on providing strategic and financial advice to a wide variety of financial institutions, merchants and associations in multiple countries including the United States, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Argentina among others. She has been involved in analyzing business models and economics for emerging payments products, assessing market opportunities across regions for both start-up companies as well as well-established organizations. Romina’s clients have included leading debit and credit card issuers and acquirers, major payments associations, ATM and POS networks, payments processors, international merchants and investment banks. Romina holds a Bachelor of Economics from Universidad de Belgrano in Argentina and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is fluent in Spanish and has basic proficiency in Portuguese.
