Romina Abal

Romina Abal is a Director in EDC’s San Francisco office. Prior to joining EDC in 2004, Romina worked in Bank of America in the Payments and Strategy area and in Accenture Argentina for the Financial Services vertical.  Romina has primarily been focused on providing strategic and financial advice to a wide variety of financial institutions, merchants and associations in multiple countries including the United States, Canada, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Argentina among others.

Romina leads EDC practice in Latin America. In this capacity she has assisted numerous banks, processors and card associations in defining their payments strategy by leveraging best practices around the world.  She has extensive experience in Mexico and is very familiar with the dynamics of the financial system in this country.

Romina holds a Bachelor of Economics from Universidad de Belgrano in Argentina and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  She is fluent in Spanish and has basic proficiency in Portuguese.
