EDC – GSMA Joint Research Survey

The survey was conducted by Edgar, Dunn & Company (EDC) in collaboration with the GSM Association (GSMA) to review mobile operator perspectives for mobile wallets and mobile financial services.

The primary objectives of the survey were to review and understand the growth in mobile wallets and mobile financial services, understand the levels of importance attached to each type of mobile financial service, and identify the expected hurdles for deployment and growth.

The GSMA has over 700 active members. Survey participants accounted for approximately 26% of the mobile operator subscriber base on a global basis as at the end of December 2007.

EDC Engagement Manager, Erik Van Winkel, presented at the ACTE Conference discussing a cost/benefit study around Optimisation of Business Travel Cost with Payment Solutions. Focus is on the cost reductions by value chain activity (both direct and indirect costs are being considered), related to the implementation of specific Airplus payment optimisation solutions. Edgar, Dunn & Company a effectué cet audit pour analyser et quantifier la réduction des coûts directs et indirects liés aux voyages d’affaires suite à l’optimisation des solutions de paiement.  Cette étude valide les réductions de coûts et l’impact des solutions AirPlus, qui supprime les tâches manuelles et répétitives de la comptabilité, et élargit l’analyse des statistiques de voyage du Travel Manager. Elle met également en évidence la flexibilité d’AirPlus qui profite aussi bien aux grands groupes tels que Veolia qu’aux entreprises avec un budget voyages inférieur à 5 millions d’euros tel qu’ADP.
