The second keynote speaker was Ruth Wandhoefer, SEPA Market Manager with Citibank in Europe as well as Chairman of the PSD Expert Group (representing the banking sectors of the EU countries). After an overview of the PSD and its position in the overall regulatory process around payments in Europe, she provided the audience with the latest insights on the transposition of the PSD text with a focus on those aspects directly impacting the banks.

He explained the strategy behind NETS and how the company has been set-up to benefit from the international processing opportunities created by SEPA.

The survey was conducted by Edgar, Dunn & Company (EDC) in collaboration with the GSM Association (GSMA) to review mobile operator perspectives for mobile wallets and mobile financial services.
The primary objectives of the survey were to review and understand the growth in mobile wallets and mobile financial services, understand the levels of importance attached to each type of mobile financial service, and identify the expected hurdles for deployment and growth.
The GSMA has over 700 active members. Survey participants accounted for approximately 26% of the mobile operator subscriber base on a global basis as at the end of December 2007.
