San Francisco/New York - August 27, 2012
As the major card schemes have announced EMV roadmap and migration plans for the US market, many issuers, acquirers and merchants are putting plans in place to meet the targets. To address the market needs, Edgar, Dunn & Company (EDC) and Smart Commerce International, Ltd (SCIL) are announcing the formation of an alliance that will bring together the skills of both companies for the benefit of our clients..
EDC has advised major issuers and acquirers on the business case for EMV and strategies for deployment. EDC’s services include developing market and individual institution business cases, determining deployment plans based on the business case, and advising on how institutions can leverage EMV as the foundation for strategies and services, such as mobile payments, that increase sales and market share.
SCIL has had many years of hands on experience with implementing EMV and understands the practical and technical issues related to not only implementation but also operation of the migrated systems. This affects all areas of the business from education and training to card lifecycle management, to marketing plans. Everyone must understand what this change means to their day to day operations to take advantage of all the benefits that can come from a well planned and executed migration.
“We have been working with major issuers and acquirers on how to position their EMV projects for a successful business case in many countries since the early days of EMV”, said Jane Cloninger, Director at EDC, “With the SCIL partnership, we can now offer our clients complete business and technical advice for successful EMV projects”.
“We are very excited about working with EDC who are the premier experts in the payment industry”, said Mansour Karimzadeh, SCIL Managing Director USA, “We believe that with our combined business and technical expertise we can help EMV issuers and acquirers through this complex new payment world”.
