New Product Development

Assisted a large software development firm in developing the concept of a virtual credit card for e-commerce applications using a co-branded bank credit card as the foundation. Developed product concept, built business models to project investment requirements and returns, identified potential business partners, and completed competitive assessment.
Analyzed the economics associated with introducing various cardholder verification and card authentication programs into the United Kingdom. Cardholder Verification Methods evaluated included PIN, photo-on-card, dynamic signature verification, and finger scan. Card Authentication Methods analyzed included use of microprocessor chips, watermark, and magnetic hologram. Developed an economic model comparing the cost and benefits of implementing chip-based versus magnetic stripe technologies to reduce risk.
Analyzed best practices and performance of an on-line retail mall for European retail bank.
Analyzed management information required by a major European bank to successfully introduce, grow, and control a new loan and credit card product. The study included an assessment of the bank's goals and main objectives as well as the product positioning, the profile of customers attracted and the management information available. The study resulted in the implementation of a new management information system at the operational, departmental, and managerial level. In addition, recommendations were made regarding overall product strategy and organizational issues arising from future growth of this new product.
Designed, negotiated and implemented a cobrand card with a magazine publisher. Developed a unique combination of "inspirational" reward elements and marketing strategy and plan.
Assisted a Fortune 500 financial services company in developing and implementing a nationwide card product aimed at the electronic benefits transfer market. Completed internal review of product capabilities, economic analysis and operational/technical resources; external review of competitive environment and vendor alternatives; developed tactical options and recommended implementation plan; and supported implementation of product. Successfully launched product, which acts like a payroll card except funds provided by EBT instead of paycheck deposits.
Assisted a global beverage manufacturer/distributor with the development and implementation of a go-to-market strategy for a prepaid payroll card. Activities included business definition, evaluation of potential partners, financial analysis and development of the business plan.
