Our client is a leading European Fintech with proprietary technology coupled with infrastructure from one of the largest banking groups in Europe. The fintech serves various industries with embedded payment solutions and issuer processing capabilities for digital banks, gift cards, Loyalty & rewards and marketplaces.
EDC was brought in to help inform the development of enhanced product capabilities including commercial and corporate cards (i.e., B2B virtual card payments for uses cases including food delivery, travel and marketplaces), enhanced & value-added solutions for digital banks (e.g., local IBANs, credit payback / instalments functionalities, etc.) and new functionalities for small banks. The Fintech had identified a number of use cases and engaged EDC to validate and size the market for these use cases and to provide an independent analysis and perspective of the competitive landscape.
How EDC helped
EDC worked closely with the client to review its current market positioning.
We identified a much broader range of competitors that who did not have the same range of services as our client, but who we felt could leverage capabilities to provide the same end-state proposition for customers via partnerships.
We then applied these insights to inform the development of a best in-class, competitive technological offering targeting banks, Neo banks and FinTech segments.
Our recommendations included a pricing strategy with the flexibility required by customers in the target segments.
EDC assisted the client conduct an analysis across 6 markets to validate the use cases and identify the most attractive opportunities for the client to pursue by market, vertical and segment.
